Since the COVID-19 pandemic, NHS services across the UK have had to care for large numbers of critically ill people infected with the virus. This has led to longer delays for people on waiting lists for hospital services, with five million people now waiting for treatment in England for the first time. The East of England is no exception with over 500,000 now on a waiting list. A survey has been developed locally to capture the general public’s views on ways to address extended waiting list for operations caused by the pandemic.
